But Hitler was a vegetarian?
October 30, 2007
It is a very common belief that Hitler was a vegetarian. First off before I blast the reality canon into the “Hitler was a veggie” question. We should address the reason why people might want to associate the non consumption of meat as a genocidal manifestation of a psychopath. The simple reason is: a lot of meat eaters look for a reason not to take vegetarianism and for that fact veganism seriously as it implicates that they continue to do something morally wrong.
Now onto the hard facts:
Hitler was advised by his doctors that he should cut out meat due to his health and tendency to sweat profusely and let rip during speeches (seriously). But the reality is he is a vegetarian if a veggie is someone who eat meat quite occasionally.
Here are a few more facts, Hitler wore clothing, Hitler liked the countryside, Hitler had a “pet” dog – Surely these criteria fit the profile of a weekend genocider. Lets say for argument sake he was a vegetarian, So what? For every vegetarian mass murder 99.9999999999999% of other Psychopaths, Genocidal maniacs and murders eat meat.
I wont go into the fact that Vegetarian Society members in Nazi Germany were thrown into concentration camps for their radical views (even if they were in-line with Hitler?).
Thanks
Chris

“…reports state that Hitler occasionally ate meat during the 1930s, which means that HE WAS NOT actually vegetarian according to modern standards. ”

To Militant Anti-Truth-ist:
Check the REST of that link to wikipedia you totally misrepresented:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianism_of_Adolf_Hitler
Hitler was without any question or controversy a Vegetarian or Vegan
Your political movement’s efforts to deny Hitler’s obvious vegetarianism is part of your general paranoia that regular people will figure out the relationship between vegetarianism and misanthropy, which is also obvious
Those who spend a lot of time proclaiming their love and respect for animals are not always, but quite often just describing their relative feelings for the creatures… relative their own self-hatred and hatred of humanity in general, a hatred that das Fuhrer shared.
The relationship between humans and farm animals is symbiotic, not a master-to-slave relationship as you portray it. A state of nature is currently at work, were farm animals are by and large treated well by farmers, with exceptions, and when the time comes, they are almost always killed painlessly so the humans can harvest their nutritious food…. in exchange, the US has 100 million heads of cattle. a number could not possibly be maintained under totally wild conditions, not to mention the fact that humans have largely altered the great plains, meaning the alternative the vast majority of such a population of cows would be extinction. When animal rights groups such as PETA collect cats and dogs, they put them to sleep, as if they have no desire to live.
If you love animals, learn to eat and farm them, and teach your children to… that way, you guarantee that beautiful creature a future existence on Planet Earth.
Our Response: Idiotic response, even if Hitler was vegetarian or vegan, it does not equate to those who are vegetarians being genocidal maniacs, unless of course you agree that those who eat meat being murderers and rapists. I took great pleasure in allowing this comment to show the extent of your ignorance. Prat.

REALITY CHECKING YOUR REALITY CHECK | February 18, 2009 at 5:49 pm
It’s a fact Hitler was not a vegetarian. When you eat meat on a regular basis, you are not a vegetarian. Are you really that uneducated? Anywho, in our current industrialized farming system, there is no way to compassionately raise and slaughter animals that are being treated as commodities rather than living beings. To state to the contrary is only a testament to your naivety. Your so called ‘reality check’ does nothing but state your warped opinion on the matter. If eating animals is some sort of wonderful experience for all parties involved, why don’t you get your dog in on the fun and eat that little bastard for dinner tonight. Oh wait, I forgot eating a domesticated animal somehow changes the scenario. To even think that you’re doing some kind of great service to the world by murdering and eating peaceful animals that deserve to live out there lives as much as any other species is just showing your lack of intellect. As for your argument about the number of existing cattle, those numbers are greatly increased with the methods of forceful breeding that industrial farmers employ. Do you really think cows would breed that much naturally? Sweet Jesus! You are a misinformed little person, Chris.

Are you kidding, KC? Look it up on the interwebs, sweetcheeks. Hitler was NOT a vegetarian. This was a myth his publicist put out in order to make him seem like a man of superior conviction. One of Adolf’s favorite foods was actually stuffed squab, according to Dione Lucas, who worked at a Hamburg hotel Hitler frequented. It’s silly people like you who perpetuate this nonsensical rumor by not being informed.
